What Is Borninfornia?
Some of you are probably wondering, "What is Borninfornia?" Let us take a moment and try to define what Borninfornia is all about. We are not here to explain what the term "Borninfornia" means, but rather explain the meaning and weight that the entire brand carries as a whole.
Borninfornia is not a company that has customers.
Borninfornia is a community that has members.
Borninfornia is not a charitable cause.
Borninfornia is a brand that supports charitable causes.
Borninfornia does not outsource its work internationally to try and save a buck.
Borninfornia does support the local economy by hiring local contractors and buying from local suppliers.
Borninfornia is not simply a fashion brand.
Borninfornia is an experience.
Borninfornia's products are not designed with the ultimate goal being maximum profits.
Borninfornia's products are designed with the ultimate goal being maximum quality.

Borninfornia Font
After a couple weeks of deliberation, Daniel and I have finally agreed upon the font option to be used for the Borninfornia brand and identity...
What do you guys think? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
It ultimately came down to between this all caps option or an all lowercase serif font option. I could have honestly gone either way but when I showed the two options to one of my best friend's mother who made a point that convinced me to go with all caps. She noted that the words "California Republic" on the California flag are in all caps, something that I never thought about despite working on this project for about a year now. I shared this point with Daniel and we both agreed that we should go with the all caps option. Hope you guys like it!

Delay
Hey y'all,
I am bummed to say it but there has been a slight delay in getting Borninfornia ready for a Kickstarter Campaign. The original date was to launch the campaign on August 1st and run it for the entire month but a delay in receiving shirt samples is making this August 1st deadline impossible to meet. Danny and I have been working on this project for just under a year now and are bummed to have to do this but we believe it is better to delay the Kickstarter campaign and fix all the issues now instead of ignoring the issues and possibly delay the delivery of the Borninfornia products after the Kickstarter campaign completes.
As of right now, it looks like we are going to have to push back the Kickstarter Campaign start date a week, maybe two, at the max. We are hoping to have the samples sometime this week and when we do receive them we will have a better idea of the dates for the campaign and will be sure to update you all.
Even though it isn't fun for us to announce things like this, we believe you guys deserve to know about these types of things and promise to be as upfront and honest as possible.

Meet the Team!
Hi Everyone,
We wanted to take the opportunity to introduce the founding team, Andrew & myself (Daniel). Andrew and I became friends in the seventh grade while attending a small private school in Watsonville, CA. Together we had many of the same classes, played on the football team (I rode the bench, Andrew started on offense, defense, and was the punter), and spent all our free time in Aptos, CA doing all things beach related.
Our friendship has surpassed ten years now, but it grew the greatest when we moved to San Diego, both choosing to major in Business Management & Entrepreneurship. Andrew at the small, religious Point Loma Nazarene University; Daniel at the overcrowded, party driven San Diego State University. This has made for quite the opportunity between the both of us, we have each studied business fundamentals in start ups but from very different atmospheres.
We are both extremely confident in our abilities and the "ying-yang" in our business relationship. Andrew is the creative one, never taking a second off to dream up elaborate ideas. I am the calculated one, trying to tweak his ideas into feasible ones. We have excellent symmetry and the trust in one another and this makes for an All-Star BORNINFORNIA team.

Andrew Sutton, Creator and Co-Founder: Age 23, grew up in Santa Cruz, CA with my two parents and three siblings before moving to the small farming community of Corralitos just south of Santa Cruz. I currently live in Pacific Beach (aka PB), a small beach community full of college kids that is just 10 minutes north of Downtown San Diego, which is where I currently work as a manager for a firm that specializes in online startups and e-commerce sites - the biggest one being TipsyElves.com. When I'm not working or daydreaming about entrepreneurial endeavors, I love to spend my time with friends, family, hanging at the beach, and trying my best to stay out of trouble. My favorite sports teams are, in no specific order, Athletics, Raiders, Sharks, Warriors and the US Men's Soccer Team. Favorite Quote: "You can learn a lot from a dummy." - Derk Sutton
Daniel Calvert, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer: Age 23, grew up in Gilroy, California but I proudly claim Santa Cruz as my hometown because no one knows where Gilroy is (and Santa Cruz is way more awesome). I live in Pacific Beach, a suburb of San Diego, where only a few blocks separate Andrew and myself. Die hard 49ers, SDSU Aztecs, Sharks and Warriors fan. I have three siblings, my older brother also lives in PB and I hope to soon join the investment firm he works for. The things that I care about more than anything are my family and my friends, having a ton of fun, and the constant pursuit of success and becoming the best person I can be.

One of Danny's old friends, Greg, hit us up recently regarding our Borninfornia brand. He works for a company in Carlsbad, CA that sounds like the ideal one-stop shop for all our Borninfornia needs when it comes to product design and development. After meeting with Greg and seeing what his company has to offer, we decided to pursue a business relationship with his company and have placed an order for samples. We hope to have them in our hands by the end of the week and will be sure to share the good news when we have them.
