Now everybody knows California is pretty dang awesome - amazing beaches, great surf, Disneyland, warm weather year round, etc. But there are some pretty odd and unusual aspects about California, including the following laws:
- In California, a frog that dies while competing in a frog-jimping contest may not be eaten later.
- In California, it is a misdemeanor to fire a gun at any type of game from a vehicle, unless the target is a whale.
- In California, it is illegal for women to drive in a house coat.
- In California, no vehicle without a driver may exceed 60 MPG.
- In California, animals are banned from publicly mating with 500 yards of a tavern, school, or church.
- In California, house sellers must warn potential buyers if their house is thought to be haunted.
- In California, it is a punishable crime to not relinquish the phone in an emergency situation.
- In California, it is illegal to sell or prescribe liquid silicone for breast implants.
- In California, it is illegal to shoot a turtle.
- In California, it is illegal to capture or sell a chipmunk.
- In California, it is a crime to peddle geese or turkey eggs as chicken eggs.
- In California, it is a crime to hunt with a crossbow while intoxicated.
